Mountain bikers will be let loose on trails at the brand-new BikePark Wales in less than a month. The UK’s first large-scale bike park will include 23 tracks in Gethin Woods, near Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales, and open on 24 August.
Cognation have created a three-part documentary series covering the trials and tribulations of creating the park. The series will follow the rollercoaster ride of the last eight months, spent building the trails and associated facilities in Gethin, and include plenty of stunning shots of the riding and trails that will be available. Here’s a little teaser to give you something to look forward to.

BikePark Wales will have trails catering for all abilities, from family-suitable routes through to a pro-level downhill track. It will also have the largest uplift capacity in the UK, and visitors will be able to rent high-end bikes from one of the park’s sponsors, Trek.
Last month, staff from BikeRadar’s sister title Mountain Biking UK had an exclusive preview of selected BikePark Wales trails, and they were impressed with the riding.
