Australian rim makers Velocity are introducing the P35 cross-country/all-mountain off-road rim, co-designed with Kirk Pacenti.
According to Velocity, the P35 is designed for the cross country/all-mountain rider needing a laterally stiff and light rim that is still tough enough for the occasional Super D race.
At 35mm wide, the P35 provides one of the fattest footprints available, designed to float over the rough stuff and give riders more bite and greater tread use through the turns.
The P35 is 22mm deep with an inside width of 29.5mm, which means it will accommodate a wide range of tyre widths and is tubeless compatible. It will be available in 26-inch, 27.5-inch (650B), and 29-inch diameters.
The Velocity P35 will be unveiled at the Interbike show in Las Vegas in late September. Pacenti provides custom tubing and frame fittings to independent frame builders, in addition to spearheading the recent 650B wheel size for mountain bike use.
