In the latest episode of BikeRadar Diaries, Matthew Loveridge – a stalwart of the channel but a newcomer to Diaries – joins Jack Luke on an overnight e-bike powered to Grwyne Fawr, the UK’s smallest bothy.
A bothy is a free and open shelter, usually found in the highland regions of the UK, that can be accessed and used by any weary traveller.
The videos sees Matthew, a self-described central heating enthusiast and all-round fair-weather human, well out of his comfort zone and into the wilds of the Brecon Beacons. The resulting video is our most wholesome effort yet.
If you’re interested to learn more about bothies, head to the Mountain Bothy Association, which is the charity that maintains the bothy network across the UK. If you ever plan on making use one, also be sure to become a member.
