If you're looking for a new off-road ride, you'll be glad to know there's no shortage of fresh and exciting technology coming to the market. Here's a look at five of the most interesting mountain bikes for 2016.

We kick things off with Transition’s Patrol Carbon, its first carbon mountain bike and pass through Yeti’s SB4.5c, a short-travel trail bike with aggressive geometry that’s dubbed the stiffest ride the cult Colorado firm has yet produced.

Also on our list is Evil’s The Insurgent, a new enduro model with 150mm of rear suspension and adjustable geometry, and Mondraker’s Dune Carbon, an all-mountain bike that allows riders to tweak the head angle and chainstay to fine-tune handling.

Our list finishes with BMC’s Teamelite 01, which offers a new take on the softail suspension concept.
