US national champion, Todd Wells (Specialized Factory Racing team), will lead a mountain bike ride at second annual ‘Dirt Roll’ fundraising ride on 6 February outside of Fairfax, California.
The ride benefits and is produced by the Northern California High School Cycling League and Marin County Bicycle Coalition, proceeds will support the ongoing work of both organizations.
“I’m excited to be in the Bay Area for this,” said Wells. “I've heard about the Camp Tamarancho trails, and I'm looking forward to riding them. For somebody like me, who makes his living from the sport, there's something special about coming to one of the places where it all began, but think about the cause too, because that’s what you’re really signing up for.”
Both ‘no-drop’ road and off-road rides will be offered, as well as lunch, raffle and Super Bowl watching party.
The supported rides will start at the San Geronimo Golf Course west of Fairfax at 10:00 and travel through the historic Bay Area mountain bike trails of Camp Tamarancho or Marin’s back road pavement.
Fundraising for the ride is encouraged, and the most successful among the fundraisers will receive some pretty impressive gifts. A fundraising minimum of $125 for adults and $75 for youth (18 and under) is required to join the ride.
The Dirt Roll is sponsored by Specialized Bicycle Components, Trek Bicycles, Mike's Bikes and Clif Bar.
