There’s less than a month to go until The London Bike Show 2016 and the red carpet’s being readied for some massive names like Sir Chris Hoy and Chris Boardman.
Former track cyclist Sir Chris Hoy is Britain’s most successful Olympian ever, with an incredible six gold medals to his name, and will be heading to ExCel London on Saturday 13 February to launch the new bikes in his HOY Bike range. He’ll also be speaking at a Q&A session at the Cycling Performance Theatre.
Chris Boardman will also be attending the show on Saturday 13, when he’ll be on the Boardman Bikes stand to show off the brand's latest range, and also take part in a Q&A session at the Cycling Performance Theatre. Having won the Tour de France’s yellow jersey six times, plus Olympics gold, the Hour record and lots more, there’s bound to be plenty of interest.

Record-breaking endurance British cyclist, adventurer and broadcaster Mark Beaumont will also be attending the show on Friday 12 Feb. Beaumont rose to prominence when he broke the Guinness World Record for cycling around the world in 2008 in 194 days, smashing 82 days from the previous best. Since then he’s taken on many epic challenges, most recently setting the African World Record by cycling 7,000 miles from Cairo to Cape Town in 41 days. He’ll be speaking at the Cycling Performance Theatre.

Air to the Throne
The London Bike Show will welcome some of the world’s best dirt jumpers on 13 and 14 February, including the likes of FMB World Champion Thomas Genon, American Nicholi Rogatkin, who finished third behind Genon in the World Championships, and Britain’s own Sam Pilgrim.
They’ll be competing in the opening round of the FMB World Tour, which kicks off at The London Bike Show with the first ever Air to the Throne competition. There’s a prize pot of €10,000 to be won, and the riders will do battle on a progressive AT3 course that promises some gigantic, unique jumps.
Plus, there’ll be demos and practice runs on the preceding days of Thursday 11 and Friday 12 February, with BMX riders Ryan Taylor and Scott Hamlin among those taking part. All of the action will be accompanied by a soundtrack provided by Kirsty Harper of Radio Shoreditch. For the full line up of judges and riders, head here.

Oh, and there’ll also be more than 300 bike brands exhibiting at the show from Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 February at ExCel London, ranging from road cycling to mountain biking, commuting, BMX, cyclocross and more.
Adult tickets cost £15, with concession tickets at £9, and children under eight going free. A ticket gets you entry to three other events that are running simultaneously: the Triathlon Show London, The Telegraph Outdoor Adventure & Travel Show, and the London International Dive Show (Saturday & Sunday only).
