Spoon Customs constructs custom bikes inspired by its home in the Alps, with traditional steel meeting modern construction and design. The company has recently updated its Izoard RR road bike with disc brakes, and the result is… well, rather lovely.
The Izoard RR ‘template’ (named after the Col d'Izoard) provides the foundation for a road racer designed to go fast. By creating a custom bike designed just for you, Spoon Customs wants to create “that first bike feeling” that will get you excited to go out and ride.
Getting a bike made with Spoon Customs begins with a fitting session, allowing the frame to be tailored to your physiology and requirements. With this information, the bike is then constructed from Columbus steel tubing in northern Italy.
You can then choose either a 'house' paint job, or go completely custom and have the bike built up with the spec of your dreams. And the result? Just check out the images below.
The bike pictured is fitted with a Chris King headset and a Columbus Futura Disc fork. The groupset is Campagnolo Super Record EPS V3 and the bike rolls on Bora 35 disc wheels with Vittoria Corsa tyres. Deda Superzero finishing kit and Fizik contact points finish off the build.
The custom frame was made to order and finished with a unique McLaren SLR black paint and 24k gold leaf decals.
We’re looking forward to seeing what else will be coming from Spoon Customs, with a gravel and more comfort focussed road bike apparently in the works.
