The Sydney Rides Festival kicks off this weekend and there’s plenty scheduled for the weekend of the 19-20th of October.

The well-known Spring Cycle ride is expecting 10,000 riders to show their support for Sydney cycling. As a once-a-year opportunity, four lanes of the Sydney Harbour Bridge will be closed to allow riders safe passage with a great view.

The Spring Cycle ride is designed to cater to all types of recreational cyclist - no matter the ability, age or bike style. Ride distance options include the 15km short city ride, the classic 50km or a new 100km challenge. The 15km finishes in Pyrmont, while the 50 and 100km end in Homebush Olympic Park. Both finishing areas will offer plenty of activities for the whole family.

The Bike and Lifestyle Show is also taking place at Homebush Olympic Park over the same weekend and businesses from the bicycle industry will be there to showcase new product and services.

For the competitive riders, the NSW State Criterium Championships will take place on Saturday the 19th at Olympic Park.
