A new coffee table book charts Steve Peat's 2009 season; an incredible year during which the downhill veteran won two World Cup rounds and was finally crowned world champion.

Steve Peat World Champion: Seventeen Years in the Making follows Peat from his winter training at home in Sheffield, through eight rounds of the World Cup series and a win at the Lisbon Downtown, to his victory at the 2009 World Championships in Canberra, Australia.

The story is told through a stunning collection of photographs by pro snapper Victor Lucas, with additional images from Sven Martin, Kathy Sessler and Dominic Worrall.

The 160-page hardback book features an introduction and captions by the man himself, along with a foreword by fellow UK downhill pioneer turned motormouth commentator Rob Warner. It's available now for £29.99 plus shipping, from www.stevepeat.com. The first 100 copies ordered online will be autographed.
