We’ve recently received a few new items of cycle clothing from Sportful, including some bib shorts, a jersey and a super-lightweight jacket.

Sportful Hot Pack Ultralight Jacket (£120/US$154)

Ready to stuff into your back pocket is the Hot Pack Ultralight jacket. It's incredibly lightweight and designed to keep you warm without the bulk of a coat. Made of windproof and water resistant fabric, it’s not meant to keep you dry in a torrential storm but will be useful in changeable conditions or as an emergency backup.

To keep you from overheating there are vents along the sides, hidden below panels to stop rain getting in. The XL weighs just 58g and compresses down to golf ball size, so it's really convenient to carry and pack away. Reflective detailing and elasticated cuffs and hems finish off the package. The Hot Pack Ultralight is available in sizes from XS to XXXL.

Pista Longzip Jersey (£40/US$47)

The Pista comes from Sportful’s Performance Jersey line. With a body-hugging but not overly aero fit, the jersey is ideal for long days in the saddle. Sportful have used their Nimbus and Nimbus Mesh fabrics to give breathable, vented performance, backed up by the full length zip.

There are three pockets on the rear, along with a decent-depth, zipped security pouch. The arms and main rear pocket feature stiffer, elasticated material for security.

Giro Bibshort (£55/US$65)

The Giro Bibshort features a figure-fitting, eight-panel construction with flatlock stitching to reduce the risk of chafing. Sportful’s Elast-X material is used for the shorts, while a mesh takes care of the bib section.

Gummy leg hems should stop them riding up, and there’s reflective detailing on the shorts to add a bit of low-light visibility.

Bodyfit Pro Summer Race Jersey (£85/US$100); Ltd Edition Bibshort (£120/US$142)

Sportful pride themselves on the fact that you can buy the kit they supply to their sponsored teams. This is the very light, very aero kit that Team Saxo-Tinkoff's Chris Anker Sørensen was wearing for stage 16 of last year's Tour de France, when the temperature hit 38 degrees on the Col de Peyresourde.

The trunk of the jersey is made of DryPro Lite, an extremely light and quick drying fabric. The shoulders and arms are Aero Stretch Mesh, keeping you cool and sitting flat for better aerodynamics – Sportful say it’s the most aero jersey they’ve ever tested and rivals some skinsuits. The fit is great, close without being tight and so light it’s barely there.

Sportful's pro/amateur racing combo

The Limited Edition Bibshort uses a thicker pad, for extra comfort, so it’s a great choice for your longest rides. The broad straps spread their tension better than regular ones, finishing off fantastically comfortable shorts. This set also comes in all black and all white.
