Specialized has announced its latest Sagan collection and, as ever, it includes some seriously fancy special edition versions of the brand’s S-Works flagship range, including the S-Works Tarmac SL7 race bike, and the ultra-lightweight S-Works Aethos.

Called Disruption, the range celebrates Specialized’s most lauded rider, Peter Sagan, who currently rides for Bora–Hansgrohe and will be lining up alongside his teammates for the opening stage of the 2021 Tour de France tomorrow.

Accompanying the launch press release are some lovely photos of Peter Sagan doing normal one-percenter stuff like driving around a sun-soaked European city in a classic convertible, looking for all the world like he’s on his way to a regatta.

We can’t see his feet, but I assume he’s wearing Italian loafers without socks.

The new Sagan Collection S-Works Tarmac frameset is mostly a relatively restrained black that looks like it could just be clear-coat over carbon.

There are small gold details, plus a rather cool flag of Slovakia on the back of the seat tube – Sagan is the Slovak national champion, don’t forget.

The Aethos, meanwhile, comes in a gold S-Works version, or a luxurious off-white second-tier FACT 10r variant, again with various gold detailing.

Gold is everywhere in fact – the S-Works 7 shoes’ Boa dials and logos are gold, as is the S-Works badge on the Evade aero helmet.

The range also includes socks, a cap and a bandana that's said to be "the perfect addition that ties everything together".

The phrase “Sagan Collection Disruption Bandana” somehow feels extremely of this moment, don’t you think?
