Specialized has announced a voluntary safety recall for many of its bikes fitted with Future Shock.

If you own a Roubaix, Ruby, Diverge or Sirrus from 2017–2019 this may affect you.
According to Specialized, the steerer tube collar on these Future Shock-equipped bikes is at risk of "stress corrosion cracking", which could lead to a sudden loss of steering control.

If your bike is one of these, you’re advised to stop riding it and return it your local Specialized dealer for a free replacement collar and torque adjustment, to improve its resistance to stress corrosion cracking.
Specialized has reported this recall to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and will release more details on the matter shortly.
