The fourth annual ENVE Builder Round-Up took place last week at the brand's American HQ. It was quite the party, with tours of ENVE’s factory, food, music and singletrack racing, followed by a 100-mile gravel ride-out from the Ogden, Utah facility.
Stars of the show were the 23 custom builds from a whole range of niche builders, covering road, mountain biking and gravel riding. Titanium was much in evidence in the frames, along with steel and carbon fibre.
There were plenty of flashy custom parts too, including gold anodised brake calipers and of course a good selection of ENVE components.
Here’s our pick of what we reckon are the nicest builds in the show.
Moots
The Colorado-based titanium gravel specialist had a custom Vamoots RCS on show, complete with ENVE fork and Chris King headset. There’s some really neat welding and some great details, including the custom out-front computer mount and embossed seatpost clamp.
Rizzo
Madrid-based Rizzo Cycles had its Prototype 150/160 full-suspension mountain bike on display. This is another brand that has gone heavy on gold anodising, with gold accents on the frame, the components and even the coil spring for the rear suspension.
Scarab
Colombian brand Scarab had some amazing detailing on its Paramo Ultra steel gravel bike. It’s a celebration of the biodiversity found by the brand’s owners on their excursions deep into the Chocó jungle.
Weis
New York brand Weis has some extreme asymmetry in the rear triangle of its Hammer Gravel Ti frameset, with the driveside seatstay starting way further down the seat tube than the left-hand stay.
The chainstays follow different routes to the rear dropouts. There’s some nice retro-style fretwork to the chainring and the derailleur jockey wheels too.
Festka
Czech brand Festka had its Spectre carbon road bike at the Builder Round-Up with a really nice gold-to-silver fade paintjob that extended to its components, including the ENVE stem. It’s a really clean-looking frame too with the smooth profile and integrated seatmast.
ENVE
ENVE’s own offering was its Custom Road bike in road race configuration, rather than its Gravel option. The black with gold paintjob is finished off with a Campagnolo Super Record EPS groupset, with gold anodised brake calipers to match the tyres’ tan sidewalls.
