Salsa recalls Vaya and La Cruz forks

About 1,700 units being recalls after eight reports of bent forks

Salsa Cycles is recalling the forks on Vaya and La Cruz bicycles as the chromoloy forks can bend above the disc-brake mount.

About 1,700 units are being recalled. The recalled Vaya forks are stamped on the steerer tube with the batch codes 2011 02 21, 2011 04 11, 2011 06 14 and 2011 09 09. The La Cruz forks are stamped with the batch codes 2011 03 01, 2011 04 08, 2011 05 30 and 2011 09 09.

The 1 1/8in forks were sold individually and as original equipment. The Vaya forks are orange or dark gray, and the La Cruz bicycle forks are black.

Salsa Cycles has received eight reports of forks bending above the disc brake mount, but claims no injuries have been reported.

If you have a recalled Vaya and La Cruz forks, stop using it immediately and contact a Salsa dealer for a free inspection, replacement fork or a full refund.
