Hotlines showed a few revised Ragley mountain bikes at today's Core Bike Show in Whittlebury, with tweaks galore, an interesting step away from complete build bikes and a reduction in pricing.
Ragley Piglet Mk2
First in line at the Ragley booth was the Piglet. Ragley's tough trail star is now in its mk 2 stage with designers having gone the whole hog with revisions. Now designed to accept a fork anywhere between 120 to 150mm, this little pig has certainly grown, whilst the 44mm head tube makes accommodating for these different travel options more convenient. The already relaxed geometry from the mk1 frame has been tweaked along with a lower bottom bracket height and the choice to include ISCG05 tabs.
Due to previous quality control issues Ragley opted to use a different factory to build their second pig, and they also switched to triple-butted chromoly steel for strength. Gone is the marmite front gusset of the old bike and paintwork is a fair bit more lairy than before. The 135mm rear end gets a new brace between seat stays, leaving room for 2.5 inches of mud-plugging rubber. Ragley have chosen not to sell complete Piglet's for 2013; it's frame is available for £349/$559 in either green or orange.
Ragley Marley
The Marley is essentially an alloy version of the Piglet with a Rasta twist. it's available for 2013 as a complete for (£1,249/$1,999), with a RockShox Sektor air fork, SRAM X7 2×10 gearing, Mavic XM 319 Disc wheels, Maxxis High Roller tyres and own-brand cockpit kit. You can also buy the Marley for the frame only price of £349/$559.
Yeah mon - it's the Ragley Marley
Ragley Blue Pig Mk3
This full-on hardcore hardtail is now happy with anywhere between a 130 and 160mm fork up front. It uses triple-butted 4130 tubing to achieve the strength required for the task and features distinctive bandy rear stays. Like the other bikes it also features a 44mm head tube, ISCG05 tabs, a 135 rear end and can accept a 2.5in rear tyre. The retail price will be £349/$559.
Ragley Big Wig
The Big Wig is Ragley's 29er frame and is designed for a 100-150mm fork. It features the same features as the other Ragley frames but this time you're limited to a 2.4in tyre at the rear. It's available in black only, so good thing it looks the part. Once again it's £349/$559.
