Peter Sagan’s sunglasses sponsor, 100%, has brought out a new limited-edition collection for the Tour de France. Keep an eye out for the PS White/Gold Collection eyewear on Sagan at the Tour, but 700 pairs will also be made available across the brand’s Speedcraft, S3 and S2 designs.
The 100% PS White/Gold Collection features two-tone frames, with a gold left sidearm and gold accents elsewhere on the frame. It’s a design not dissimilar to Oakley’s limited-edition Tour de France 2020 glasses, released last week, which also include gold accents.
The frame design is complemented by 100%'s Soft Gold Mirror lens, which the brand says is ideal for sunny conditions and is 100 per cent UV protective. The Speedcraft and the S3 have the very angular looks favoured by Sagan, while the S2 has a more understated, rounded profile.
The sunnies are designed in California and made in Italy, and feature 100%’s signature oversized lenses. There’s a scratch-resistant hard coating and hydrophobic and oleophobic lens treatment to keep water and dirt at bay, along with plenty of venting to help stop fogging.
The frames include a grippy nosepiece and temple grips to ensure they don’t slip down as you ride.
As well as the supplied lens, there’s a clear lens option with 93 per cent light transmission for low light riding. All models feature interchangeable lenses and 100% sells replacement lenses, including photochromatics and its contrast-enhancing Hiper lenses.
All three PS White/Gold Collection designs are available on 100%’s website and from selected dealers, with a US price tag of $220.
