New York City cycling-friendly clothiers Outlier Tailored Performance have introduced their US$180 Khaki OG pants, made with water-repellent Schoeller Dryskin Extreme fabric, with the ability to dry in 15 to 20 minutes.
According to Outlier's Tyler Clemens, these aren't your grandfather's khakis, but they're not your typical cycling-specific pant either.
"This is our classic OG cut in a khaki colour," Clemens told BikeRadar. "We tested a lot of other fabrics but didn't find one that worked as well as our 4Season material so we decided to do it in this new khaki colour. We've been testing fabrics ongoing for at least six months.
"We consider this the starting ground for making a new khaki pant. We'll keep innovating and trying to find uniquely khaki fabrics and cuts. Although we'll keep innovating and moving forward, we'll have this offering as a core item now through next year.
"As for the colours, I think it's a matter of personal preference (between our black, gray or khaki). Also, more southern climates are going to favour lighter colours that don't overheat as quick."
The Outlier Khaki OG pants are made in New York City, with a flat front, medium lean leg and four-way stretch for sharp looks and unrestricted pedalling. Waist sizes (in inches) include 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33 ,34, 35, 36, and 38.
