British bike company Orange Bikes' new cyclocross bike, the RX9 which we previewed in January, is now on sale for £1099.99.
Although the retail price is somewhat higher than the sub-£1K we were told in January, it's still a well specced bike: a Shimano Tiagra/105 hybrid drivetrain, a Mavic A119/Shimano Deore wheelset, Avid BB5 mechanical disc brakes and quality Easton EA50 finishing kit.
Right now the only option you get to pick on an RX9 is the size – 52, 54, 56 and 58cm sizes will be available from early May, while the lanky amongst us will have to wait until 60cm bikes become available from mid July. 'Carrot top orange' is the only colour you'll be getting.
Geometry conforms to Orange's usual ride philosophy – using slack angles for a bike of this kind maximises both off-road handling and fun. Orange are also quick to point out that the RX9 isn't just for cyclocross use. They say that it's an ideal go-anywhere mile-muncher and is equally at home as a commuting steed.
The RX9 simply looks like a lot of fun. Don't believe us? Check out the trailer below…
