Niner Bikes have updated their singlespeed One 9 29er for 2012, with a new frame material the major change. The scandium used on the previous version has been ditched in favour of hydroformed aluminium, which is said to produce a lighter, tougher frame (a claimed 70g, depending on size and finish).
The first run of bikes, in an anodized black colour, will ship to US and international dealers in the next fortnight. The Tang/Black Liquorice colour shown here will be available within five weeks and retail for $899. There's no word on UK pricing yet.

Hydroforming has allowed Niner to shape the tubes in ways that have increased strength and stiffness in key areas
Also new from Niner for 2012 are the carbon RDO fork and seatpost. The 570g fork comes with a RockShox Maxle through-axle and is disc brake specific. Costing $549, it’ll be first available in the next five weeks, with substantial stock from December.
The RDO seatpost continues the trend of posts with built-in flex for comfort, offering a small degree of suspension through its internal structure, which is designed to disperse impact energy through its length. Weighing 210-220g depending on size, it'll cost $199 when it's shipped to dealers in four weeks. Visit Niner for more details.
