Moots has announced the release of its Vamoots CRD, the new halo bike in the revered Vamoots road bikes line.

The Vamoots CRD (Complete Road Design) sees the brand, based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, head down the integration route for the first time.

The CRD is compatible only with electronic groupsets and the hydraulic hoses are routed through an ENVE Aero Stem before passing through the upper headset bearing.

The headset is taken care of by Chris King with its Aeroset, which allows for traditional bearing preload adjustment. The system debuted on the ENVE Custom Road in March 2021.

Titanium goodness

The Vamoots CRD retains the double-butted RSL titanium tubeset, as well as the 3D-printed dropouts the brand is renowned for.

Moots says the 3D-printed dropouts save weight, add stiffness to the rear wheel and achieve perfect brake-caliper alignment. According to the brand, a size 56cm frame comes in at under 1,400g.

The Vamoots CRD is compatible with tyres up to 700c x 32mm, although Moots says a 28 to 30mm tyre is optimal.

The bike features a T47 bottom bracket standard with an 86.5mm shell width and uses a 27.2mm-diameter seatpost.
