For 2015, Koga will be offering a road disc version of its Solacio road bike. The Solacio is a sportive-style endurance bike, and features a carbon frameset with a unidirectional finish, which has been developed for Shimano’s new road disc standard and integrates brake hoses.
The Dutch brand says: “Road disc brakes guarantee optimal braking performance in all weather conditions. They offer more stopping power with less effort especially from the hood position. Furthermore, the rims don’t wear out and can be developed without a braking surface, which contributes to the clean look and feel of this road bike.”
The frame features a tapered head tube, Press Fit bottom bracket, carbon dropouts, replaceable rear derailleur hanger and ‘chain suck protection’. The Solacio will come loaded with Ultegra gearing (11-25t on the back, 50-34 up front), Mavic Aksium disc wheels and Vredestein Fortezza Duo Comp 25mm tyres. The non-disc version retails at £1,999, but the price of the disc model is yet to be confirmed.
