We like a brand that doesn’t take itself too seriously and we think the name says it all — brillibrilliant/unicorn (BBUC). The small clothing company has just launched its Copy Cat collection, inspired by the loud and ever-present branding on pro-team kits today.
There’s definitely a quirky look to these jerseys, but also a hidden depth of meaning if you look hard enough. Lots of popular references to pop culture abound and we’ll be surprised if you can figure them all out.
BBUC Pamosonic Jersey
This jersey is inspired by Pamo, a team rider for BBUC who is apparently a rather speedy descender and loves riding a certain brand of tyres.
Can you spot the references to Continental, Panaracer, Virgil Abloh, Giant and velominati?
BBUC Danube Island Jersey
Well this one’s just a veritable mish-mash of logos and references: Adidas, Cyclocross, Kanye and Kim, Stone Island, Supreme, Aeroflot and Specialized — you name it, it seems to be here.
It’s taken us a while to get our heads round this one and we're still not sure we completely get it.
Multi-faceted layers of meaning aside, we actually rather like the unusual and light-hearted designs of a company that lives by the hashtag #outdoordisco.
All the BBUC clothing is constructed from premium Schoeller fabrics in custom colours in Italy and is available in male and female specific cuts.
Who knew that cycling jerseys could be a statement on the over-commercialisation and over-branding of life today? Visit bbuc.co for more information, more kit and details on hold to get your hands on some BBUC kit.
