There are some videos that just make you want to go out riding, and pro mountain biker Hannah Barnes' 250-mile solo journey through North-West Scotland is one such vid.

NorthWest, expertly and lavishly produced by Cut Media – makers of Danny MacAskill's Imaginate and Steve Peat's documentary Solo – charts Barnes' route from the Fort William, venue for downhill World Cups aplenty, over uncharted territory to Cape Wrath, a point at the very tip of north west Scotland.

Cue gorgeous scenery, thrilling trails and some biblical weather for an extremely photogenic and well-made video. And it turns out Barnes, a Scot, isn't only handy on a bike – she can play the fiddle too.

At almost 30 minutes it's not a quick watch, but then again, Scotland's gorgeous scenery and some of the singletrack Barnes discovers make it a thoroughly worthwhile watch.
