UK chain store Halfords have released a new range of own-brand Apollo bikes with improved specs, tweaked frame geometries and women's-specific models.

Aimed at offering recreational cyclists value for money, the Apollo brand accounts for one in three bikes sold in the UK.

Halfords' Sue Crawford said: “The adult Apollo bike range consists of great colours and styles across mountain bike and hybrid models. They'll inspire people to ride and, with proper care, will give years of enjoyment and great health benefits.”

The £219.99 full-suspension Apollo Kanyon has cable disc brakes and a Suntour M-2000 fork. The basic rear shock should take the sting out of road or towpath bumps.
