GT is entering the electric bike arena for the first time with the launch of a range of full-suspension and hardtail pedal-assist mountain bikes.
Going by the new GT-E moniker, the Force full-suspension range consists of two models, while the Pantera hardtail range is made up of three. Both the Force and Pantera will be available from November.

The trail-orientated, full-sus GT-E Force bikes are based on GT’s proven LTS four-bar linkage suspension platform, which was reintroduced on its conventional models last year.
This has been tweaked by increasing the platform’s anti-squat and anti-rise capabilities to better accommodate the lower centre of gravity of an e-bike.
Both the top of the range Amp and its slightly lower-specced counterpart, the Current, sport 29in wheels, while Shimano’s well regarded STEPS drive provides the powered assistance.

The alloy-framed, short-travel GT-E Pantera bikes use a new version of GT’s Triple Triangle frame design with 'floating' seatstays that join directly to the top tube and aren't connected to the seat tube. GT claims this arrangement allows for 50 per cent more vertical compliance than that of a bike with regular stays.
All the bikes have internal cabling with capacity to run a dropper post should you wish to upgrade, while rack and fender mounts ensure wider appeal beyond the trails.
Like the Force, the Pantera range runs on 29in wheels and uses the Shimano STEPS drive.
