Grupetto Italia have been kind enough to send over one of their new bikes for 2012, and it's certainly caught our eye.
This model is the Mottarone SL which will sit alongside two other carbon models and a steel bike to make up an all new 'Retro Carbon Range'. Production of the Mottarone will be limited to only 25 framesets, each of which will be tailored specifically to the customer's requirements. The options list for the frame builds are extensive with integrated seatposts, internal cabling and a BB30 bottom bracket all being boxes that are ready to be ticked.
This example is finished in a burgundy/cream colour scheme (other colour options are available) and even though it's left opinions firmly divided it's certainly a bike that stands out from the crowd. Fitted with Campagnolo Super Record 11spd, Deda 100 bar and stem and unbranded Reynolds Strike wheels, it will sell for between £4500-5000. The frame/fork alone is available in five sizes and can be bought for £1,920. Grupetto Italia are now taking orders for custom builds.
