Friends and family of riders competing in the Haute Route later this month will be able to track their progress via an online rider community.

It allows people to view profile and training information as well as the ability to follow their trials and tribulations throughout the event.

The Haute Route is a seven-day sportive through the Alps from Geneva to Nice and is billed as the highest and toughest in the world. Around 600 participants will scale 19 cols across 780km and over 70,000ft of climbing, tackling seven timed stages in the process.

BikeRadar is heading out to the event for the start in Geneva on 19 August and we'll be posting blogs about our experiences throughout. Read the first entry here. We'll also be uploading all our data to BikeRadar Training, where you'll be able to view in detail our col by col trek to Nice.
