British company Ridgeback are known for their workhorse commuter bikes but at their 2010 launch they had something special on show – a titanium addition to their top-end Flight lineup.
The Flight Ti looks similar to the existing Flight 05 and shares its proven geometry, but in place of that bike's triple-butted aluminium chassis it has a frame made of cold-drawn 3V/2.5AL titanium.
This is topped off with a Ti post and bars, a carbon fibre fork, 10-speed Shimano Ultegra 6700 drivetrain, Alex R475 wheelset and Shimano hydraulic disc brakes.
At £2,299 it ain't cheap, but it's likely to have been created as a showcase for Ridgeback's designers rather with the intention of actually shifting many bikes.
