The final round of the Merida Bikes MTB Marathon Series 2009 takes place this weekend (19-20 September) in Ruthin, North Wales.
It coincides with the final round of the Gore Bike Wear Road Sportive Series at the same venue.
Mountain bikers have a choice of four routes (30, 55, 73 and 92km) which take in some of the area’s best flowing trails and natural singletrack.

Sportive riders can choose between 45 and 80-miles routes. Both head out of historic Ruthin along Vale of Clwyd towards the coast, climbing past Denbigh’s 13th century castle.
The short course then takes in Lyn Brenig, Cerrigydrudion and Clawdd-Newydd, while the long one also passes through Bala, Corwen, Llangollen and the HorseshoePass.
