Chris Chance, the framebuilder behind the storied brand Fat Chance Bicycles, whose models such as the Yo Eddy Team are still prized by collectors more than a decade after the company folded, is poised to return to the cycling industry with two new mountain bikes.

The buzz began at this year’s Interbike tradeshow. “Our goal was to spread the word about the resurrection of Fat Chance Bicycles and connect with friends, old and new, in the bike industry,” reads a statement on the Fat Chance website.

The outpouring of support was substantial. Chance polled fans of the brand on what they would like to see the company develop. The results were split between 27.5in and 29in steel hardtails with trail-inspired geometry.

Rather than pick a wheelsize, Fat Chance plans to produce both. These new Yo Eddy frames will come with thoroughly modern features such as disc brakes, tapered head tubes and 142x12mm thru-axle rear ends.

Further specifics such as geometry, pricing and availability were not immediately available.
