UK cycling distributor Fisher Outdoor Leisure have officially launched their new Eastway brand, a 13-bike range with road, hybrid and cyclocross models on offer. While they admitted to BikeRadar that it's taken a "little longer than anticipated" to get the bikes to market after they were first introduced to us a year ago, there's plenty of interest in the new machines.
The Eastway lineup is a collaborative effort of two Fisher employees and lifelong friends who grew up cycling in London. Both Matthew Pryke and Stephen Britz used to compete against each other at the Eastway Circuit in Stratford, East London – the venue that gave them inspiration for the name of the brand as well as the idea behind it.
We've taken a closer look at Eastway's flagship disc-equipped carbon road bike, the RD1.0. This sits alongside a range of alloy road models, including a singlespeed and even a Reynolds 520 steel ride.
Other standout models from the range are the FB series of hydraulic disc equipped, flat bar hybrid bikes, and two cyclocross bikes, one alloy and the other carbon. The bikes range from £599 to £1,999 and will be available to purchase from Fisher Outdoor Leisure from 27 February.
