At Interbike this year we checked out two new products from DT Swiss – their OXIC PR 1400 road wheels, and Spline One MTB wheelset range. Read on for more info…

OXIC road clinchers

The new DT Swiss OXIC PR 1400 clinchers are said to be the pinnacle of alloy road wheels

The company’s OXIC clincher wheelset is described as the pinnacle of alloy hoops, combining low weight and a more affordable price point with excellent, durable braking thanks to a ceramic rim surface.

“It’s not actually a coating, it’s more like an anodising process,” said Shane Hensley, marketing manager at DT Swiss. They come tubeless-ready and weigh 1,435g for the set. Pricing is £799 / $1,286 (Aussie pricing TBC).

Spline One MTB range

The new DT Swiss Spline One MTB wheels come in a large range of widths and sizes

Meanwhile, the Spline One MTB range comes in XC, trail and enduro flavours, and is definitely one to watch. It comes in rim widths of 22.5mm, 25mm, 30mm, 35mm and 40mm.

“We have XR for more of a cross-country, racing wheel,” says Hensley, “XM which is more of an all-mountain wheel, and then we have EX, which is a high-end, burly enduro wheel.”

All three are based on the DT Swiss 240 hub with a 36-tooth ratchet, all use the company’s competition spoke, and come in a range rim widths. Pricing starts at £749 / $1,211 for the XR wheels (Aussie pricing TBC).
