The second Deloitte Ride Across Britain will take place from 11-19 June 2011, beginning in John O’Groats and ending in Land’s End. The nine daily stages will take in 950 miles of the UK’s most stunning countryside and you’ll be able to enter solo or in a relay team.
Olympians James Cracknell and Rebecca Romero took to two wheels during this year’s inaugural event alongside Paralympians Jody Cundy, Sarah Storey, Barney Storey and 600 other riders.
A total of £372,182 was raised for ParalympicsGB, and organisers hope to increase that to £1 million over the next three years to support Great Britain’s future Paralympians in the lead-up to London 2012 and beyond.
Julian Mack, co-founding director of organisers Threshold Sports, said: “There are a few iconic challenges in life that are a must-do. This end-to-end ride is one of them. Arduous yes, at times punishing even, but what rewards – friendship, self esteem, bucketloads of fundraising."
