Several cycling products have been lauded at this year's iF product design award ceremony in Hanover, Germany. In total, 2,756 bits of kit were submitted for appraisal, with 993 winning the approval of the judging panel and 50 receiving the coveted gold award.

Among those 50 were Canyon's Aeroad CF aero road bike, praised for its aerodynamic design, and Shimano's ACCU3D R windshell, which was singled out for its light weight – just 63g – packable dimensions, water-repellancy and tear-resistance.

JD Bug, known for their kick-scooters, impressed the jury enough to receive a standard iF award for their First Bike This balance bike is aimed at children aged three upwards. Aluminium construction keeps weight down to a manageable 3.7kg (8lb) and the judges praised its simple and dynamic design.
