Canadian cross-country rider Emily Batty has signed a full factory deal with Trek World Racing.

The move follows some impressive results from the 21-year-old, including a top 10 finish at last year's World Cup round in Offenburg, Germany.

It marks a big step up for Batty, who rode for Trek Store Toronto for the past two seasons. She joins Swiss brothers Mathias and Lukas Flueckiger on the cross-country side of the Trek squad.

Batty will be racing the full World Cup circuit, the World Championships, which this year take place on home soil at Mont Sainte-Anne, and other races including Canadian Cup rounds and the Sea Otter Classic.

She said: "I'm so excited to be taking this next step in my racing career. With Trek World Racing there's a continuation of the equipment I love, and a lot of experience with the other riders and staff, and I can't wait to get out there and continue to improve as an athlete."

Team director Martin Whiteley said: "It's not often in women's cross-country that relatively young riders show their potential so early in an elite field, but Emily has the poise, commitment and humility that will allow her to progress to a new level."
