Evans Cycles have signed an exclusive UK distribution deal with Cole Wheels. It means the American company's hand-made road, time trial, mountain bike and cyclo-cross hoops will be available online and in 43 stores across the country from June.
Cole are known for their patented Dynamic Spoke Allignment (DSA) system. This uses double-threaded, self-aligning, straight-pull spokes – instead of traditional spokes with a J-bend at the hub – to improve tension. Evans say DSA improves wheel stiffness (and therefore power transfer), strength and spoke life without any sacrifices in weight.
Cole wheels were used by the Vaconsoleil pro team last year and were also ridden by Marianne Vos on her way to becoming UCI world road and cyclo-cross champion. The wheels are only available in pairs (with the exception of the rear disc wheel and front tri-spoke) and cost between £199.99 and £1,299.99. For more information, see Evans Cycles' blog.
