At just 84g and billed as the world’s lightest, Ceradure's road cassette is already worthy of attention. But the Benelux-based company have upped the ante in time for this week's London Bike Show, where they'll be displaying a one-off 'diamond' edition.
Despite the name, it's not real diamonds that cover both the lockring and the rear of the cassette but cubic zirconias. The result is still eye-catching, though. Only one 'diamond edition' exists and it will be on display at Ceradure's UK distributor Veroli's stand at the show, where it'll be auctioned off on the final day.
Visitors to the stand will be invited to submit bids, with the winner being the person willing to part with the largest amount of cash. The standard cassette retails for over £300, so the unique nature of this special edition is expected send its value spiralling.
The London Bike Show, which takes place from 12-15 January at the ExCel centre, is in its second year in 2012. You can buy discounted tickets by entering the code 'radar' at checkout. Entry with the code costs £15 compared to an on-the-door price of £20.
BikeRadar will be hosting a training hub at the show, giving you access to a wide range of cycling-specific physiological assessments and coaching advice. The hub, powered by cycling training experts Koolstof Sports Coaching, is an exclusive area within the show which will put visitors through their paces over two hours in a series of tests and consultations designed to assess your performance and target areas for improvement.
