To celebrate 25 years of Cannondale Factory racing, the American brand has released a frameset that allows the avid collector and super-fan to indulge their nineties nostalgia.
The Cannondale F-Si Throwback frameset is a retro-themed hardtail that screams nineties paint-job while delivering all the features of a modern carbon XC racer.

Modern tech meets ’90s XC racer
While it looks the part, drawing on its nineties CAAD XC race heritage, the F-Si Throwback shares the same tech as the current F-Si Hi-MOD. That means low and slack geometry, Hi-MOD BallisTec carbon construction, 12mm thru-axle and Ai drivetrain offset. Topping it all off is a carbon Lefty Ocho 29er fork with 100mm travel and standard 1.5in tapered steerer.
Some may be disappointed though that Cannondale’s nostalgia doesn’t reach as far back as the threaded bottom bracket. As with all its bikes, the brand has favoured its PF30 BB standard.
A colourful tribute
Available as a frameset only, the F-Si Throwback comes in two colours that pay homage to two eras of Cannondale’s rich race heritage.
Viper Red is reminiscent of the 1994–97 race team and the bike ridden in the first MTB Olympics.
Team Blue Gloss harks back to the CAAD3, 4 and 5, raced between 1998 and 2002.
