Cane Creek has offered the elastomer-damped Thudbuster seatpost for decades. Now, the North Carolina-based manufacturer is releasing a sleek, short travel suspension seatpost with a claimed weight of under 300g.
- Do we need full suspension on gravel? Niner thinks so
- Cane Creek re-releases the Ergo Control bar end
Like the Thudbuster, the eeSilk relies on an elastomer to provide a bit of give. The slimmer eeSilk provides up to 20mm of travel, as opposed to the 33mm Thudbuster ST or the 76mm Thudbuster LT.
While the Thudbuster was designed for mountain biking and trekking, the eeSilk is positioned as an option for gravel and ultra-endurance riders looking for a bit of give.
Interchangeable elastomers allow the post to support riders ranging in weight from 100lb/45kg to 330lb/150kg. Three elastomers are included with the seatpost to fine tune ride feel. It features a forged and CNC'd aluminum body and titanium hardware.
The eeSilk has a claimed weight of 295g and comes in a 27.2mm diameter with a total length of 350mm.
The eeSilk seatpost is available now and retails for $289.
