Burgtec have launched a new stem designed to cater for the demands of the enduro rider. The new component – named simply 'Enduro' – is the first product released from an upcoming component range and will set you back £74.99.
Machined from a solid billet of 6061 T6 aluminium, it's available in 50 or 60mm reach options, both for oversized bars, and with claimed weight figures of 165g or 175g respectively. The product has seen a full 12 months of development and testing, and is set to land just in time for the debut round of the Enduro World Series this weekend, in Italy.
Burgtec have opted to use a design that clamps in front of the fork steerer tube. It incorporates an unusually large clamping area that the team found offered significant strength gains over a conventional clamp. This also gives the stem a larger than normal stack height – a good thing if you aren't fond of spacers up front.
The rear end of the Enduro is also free of any nasty bolt heads or sharp edges, something your knees will likely appreciate during a crash scenario. It's available in black, red, blue or bronze.
