British Cycling have selected 25 young riders for their 2010-2011 Olympic Academy Programme, which starts on 1 November.

The riders will span the disciplines of road, track, mountain biking and BMX, with a view towards success in the 2012 Olympics and beyond.

Some will be new to the programme, including 18 year-old sprinter Philip Hindes, who is German born but has a British father. His talent was evident at this year's junior world track championships, where he finished second in the team sprint and fourth in the individual sprint.

Performance manager Shane Sutton said: "Our under-23 squad continues to strengthen and this year Alex Dowsett and Lucy Martin have both been signed up to professional road teams for next season. We've also got an interesting situation on the women's endurance programme with all the girls now being focussed on the endurance track events rather than the road."
