I need to buy a portable pressure washer – here are 5 temptingly cheap Black Friday deals

Top deals on jet washers from Bosch, Karcher, Worx and more

In the new year, I will bid farewell to my terraced home of eight years and move into a top-floor flat.

Although I’ll enjoy living in a well-insulated, mildew-free abode, it will leave me without access to an outside tap. This presents a conundrum to the committed year-round cyclist – how will I easily keep my embarrassingly large fleet of bikes clean?

Unwilling to cart buckets of water up and down the stairs, I’ve decided a portable cordless pressure washer stored in my pokey wee lockup will be the best solution.

Portable jet washers use water more sparingly than my slapdash efforts with a sponge. They’re also much more effective if – like me – you’re quite lazy.

Thus my hunt for a cheap pressure washer begins – and what better time for deal hunting than the Black Friday bargain blood bath.

Let’s get cracking, starting with tempting prices on two well-reviewed options.

Karcher OC 3 Portable Cleaner – £149.99 £99.99 (save 29%)

The Karcher OC 3 is designed specifically for bikes and other outdoorsy activities.

Kicking things off is the Karcher OC 3 – a cute wee Squirtle of a pressure washer that we awarded 4 stars back in 2018.

Despite the age of the review, the washer hasn’t changed since then, offering a 15-minute run time and a 4-litre water tank.

The in-built battery means you can’t charge a spare for extended skooshing sessions, but it should be suitable for washing one or two bikes after a ride.

Karcher keeps a firm hand on its pricing, so essentially all retailers have the OC 3 at £99.99, including Amazon and Halfords.

If you prefer buying from Karcher directly, you can nab it for the same price using the code BLACK20 at checkout

Worx Hydroshot – £199.99 £119.99 (save 40%)

Our testers really rate the Worx Hydroshot.

Worx is offering its full cordless pressure washer kit, which includes a spare battery, brush, snow foam kit and more, with a chunky 40 per cent saving on Amazon.

Given this full kit costs only around £15 more than the Hydroshot on its own with one battery, you’d be as daft as a grime-encrusted bike-washing brush not to go for the full kit.

We awarded the very similar Worx 20v Max Hydroshot 4.5 stars when we reviewed it in 2018. I have no reason to doubt that this ever-so-slightly different model will satisfy.

Ryobi 18v One+ HP Cordless Power Washer – £159.99 £119.99 (or £89.99)

Ryobi 18v One HP Cordless Power Washer
If you can look past the incorrectly assembled bike, I'm sure this pressure washer is a good buy. Ryobi

This isn’t one we’ve reviewed, but the Ryobi 18V ONE+ power washer (what a mouthful) comes from a well-respected brand, and has been reviewed well by users.

It’s similar in format to the Worx, although the base kit from Ryobi direct isn’t that generous at £119.99 – a £40 saving on RRP.

This refurbished kit from Atlas Refurb and Repair is a more compelling buy at £89.99. It comes with a 12-month warranty and is greener than buying new.

Muc-Off Mobile Pressure Washer starter bundle – £250 £187.50 (save 25%)

Muc-Off Mobile Pressure Washer starter bundle
I always wash my bike in the middle of moody moorland, miles from the road – don't you? Muc-Off

Muc-Off’s Mobile Pressure Washer kit launched earlier this year, and is already discounted to £187.50 – a 25 per cent saving on RRP.

The kit includes a bunch of lances and a spare battery.

The 20-litre tank is temptingly large, requiring fewer trips up and down my future stairwell to refill.

Bosch Fontus outdoor pressure washer – £345 £182.60

If you already own battery-powered Bosch kit, this could be a good shout.

I tested the Bosch Fontus back in 2020. While I liked its overall form factor and included accessories, the hose attachment at the front was a bit naff, breaking after around three months of use. Had I been a consumer, Bosch would have replaced this under warranty.

As such, I recommend this washer cautiously. At £182.60, it’s a decent price, although the Worx or Karcher options are probably a safer (and cheaper) bet.

However, if you’re already fully Bosch pilled and stocked up with its 18v batteries, this could be a good shout. Just be careful with that hose.
