Bike launches have come thick and fast this summer, with more 2021 machines than you can shake a credit card at. Judging by some of the spy shots to emerge recently, there's more to come.
In the latest episode the BikeRadar Podcast, assistant editor Jack Luke and technical writer Simon Bromley discuss the new Canyon Aeroad and Factor Ostro – or at least the as-yet-unreleased bikes we believe to be the Aeroad and Ostro.
Last week we saw another glimpse of the revamped Aeroad being ridden by French national champion Warren Barguil at the Critérium du Dauphiné.
Canyon inadvertently – or perhaps purposely – leaked the Aeroad in a Zwift advert at the start of the year but this latest photo provides a much better idea of what we can expect when it does finally arrive.
Meanwhile, we also spotted a new bike from Factor at the Dauphiné, not being ridden but propped up outside the Israel Start-Up Nation team bus. Coincidence? Maybe.
We reckon this is the Factor Ostro, a model recently added to the UCI's list of approved frames and forks. It looks to be an aero-lightweight mash-up.
Could this be the bike Chris Froome rides when he leaves Team Ineos at the end of the season? We'll have to wait and see, but he'll also have the updated O2 VAM climbing bike, announced this week, to choose from.
If mountain bikes are more your thing, in this tech special of the podcast, Jack and Simon also take a look at the Mondraker Podium – an ultralight XC race bike with a claimed frame weight of only 775g.
