Four UK riders have made the cut for Astrix Europe's 2009 downhill race team.
Ben Ineson and Liam Mason will join existing team members Ben Baker and Sam Flockhart. They will all compete in the UCI World Cup series, except 16-year-old Sam, who is too young, despite posting times which are up there with the elite racers.
The team will ride the 2009 Havoc R, which is said to be stiffer, plusher and lighter than last year's model, with a new custom tubeset, and has been specifically developed for UK riders.
A spokeman for Astrix said: "This year we welcome two new riders, Ben Ineson and Liam Mason, both well known on the UK circuit and deserving of our full support. Ben Baker enters his second season with us and Sam 'The Flying Scot' Flockhart starts his third. We look forward to seeing the lads on track, firing on all 12 cylinders."
