German security company Abus' main claim to fame could be as the inventor of the first bicycle chain lock, 70 years ago. Since then, its range has expanded from cycle security products to safety items such as helmets and bags.

Given that the Abus name is synonymous with security, the 2016 range unsurprisingly incorporates robust stalwarts with updated new models. Abus offers a convenient service whereby several locks can be accessed using the same key. For 2016, Abus has added a lightweight chain lock to its range that's perfect for low-level security when at a coffee stop or event sign on, and fits easily in a pocket or bag.

Helmets come packed full with features, with various models incorporating integrated rear lights and waterproof covers. There's even an integrated visor in the case of the Abus In Vizz helmet.
