Who remembers 80s classic ‘BMX Bandits’? An Australian adventure crime drama set in Sydney and featuring Nicole Kidman in her big-screen break, it’ll evoke strong waves of nostalgia in many BikeRadar readers.

Now BMX freestylers Corey Bohan and Mike Clark have have teamed up with BMX racer Leanna Curtis to produce the ultimate tribute to it, called ‘Bicycle Motorcross’. This labour of love has taken two years of planning and a hectic two weeks of filming across Sydney, as they tried hard to pay homage to original whilst giving their own unique twist.

Ah, milkshakes:

The seven-minute film was made with help from Red Bull and opens with Bohan and Hucker riding along Sydney’s coastal paths, practising their wheelies and bunnyhops, working up a thirst. They head over to the pier for milkshakes with Curtis (playing Kidman’s role of ’Swifty’), and on the way home narrowly avoid collision with a dastardly gang of bank robbers.

Watch out!:

We’ll leave you to find out what happens next – the full film can be watched here.
