SR Suntour has released new versions of its Durolux38-Evo and Auron36-Evo forks for 2025, featuring a fresh RC+ PCS damper that's said to be the brand's most responsive yet.

The new damper uses an open-bath design and is said to have more oil to deal with high speeds and hard impacts, while still being supple on small bumps and trail chatter.

Aside from this, the Durolux38-Evo features an updated chassis while the Auron36-Evo remains the same externally as the previous model.

The SR Suntour Auron36-Evo is priced at €879, while the longer-travel Durolux38-Evo is priced at €899.

This positions the forks very competitively with rivals from high-end brands such as RockShox and Fox.

The brand says its new RC+ cartridge has extra oil flow, which adds to the fork's ability to react to high-speed impacts.

It says the new cartridge responds faster than any it has made before, while maintaining small-bump sensitivity.

SR Suntour says the cartridge was developed over four years, with help from its WERX program of elite riders.

The brand's PCS (Piston Compensator System) floating piston is said to provide consistent damping in all conditions.

High-speed compression and rebound are managed by an internal shim, with external low-speed compression and rebound adjust featuring on the crown of the fork.

The high-speed and low-speed circuits are said to work independently of each other, while maintaining a seamless transition between the two.

As the name suggests, the fork continues to use 38mm stanchions, but sees an updated chassis design with a wider pitch for increased stability. The leg centre distance increases from 145mm to 151mm.

This also allows for slightly wider mountain bike tyres to be used, with the brand suggesting a maximum of 2.6in.

The new design is more angular than previously. A new 3D-machined bushing alignment process has also been implemented, with the brand saying this increases sensitivity – which should result in a more supple ride on smaller pumps.

In the hunt for even more sensitivity, SR Suntour has also given the fork its SOBA (Semi-Open Oil Bath) Technology, which works in conjunction with the RC+ PCS damper to lubricate the fork and keep the bushings from drying out.

A hollow-forged crown is still used, with magnesium lowers to save weight.

The brand's Air EQ negative air spring is also carried over, which is said to give the fork a coil-like feel by equalising your weight to the spring curve, increasing support.

There are also mounts for an integrated fender, as before.

SR Suntour is also offering the fork for electric mountain bikes, with the Durolux38X-Evo featuring extra material such as a solid crown, to cope with the increased forces of a heavier bike.

Both forks are available with 160mm, 170mm or 180mm of travel, with the brand yet to say how much they weigh.

The Auron36 sees an increased stanchion width, bumping up from 35mm to 36mm, making it a fully fledged all-mountain fork.

It also features the RC+ PCS cartridge and the SOBA (Semi-Open Oil Bath) technology found on the Durolux38-EVO.

Unlike its sibling, the Auron36 is available in 29in and 27.5in wheel sizes, both of which feature 150mm to 160mm travel options.
