Marin has updated its Hawk Hill 27.5 inch trail bike for the 2021 model year, with upgraded specs across the three bike range, coupled with a modest price increase.
The Hawk Hill is available in three spec levels, with prices starting from £1,495 / $1,599 / €1,599. The bike is available in sizes S to XL, with the Hawk Hill 1 adding an XS size option too.
At the bottom end, the Hawk Hill 1 now gets an 11-speed Shimano Deore drivetrain, while tyres are upgraded to tubeless-ready Vee Tire Crown Gem 2.3 inch rubber.
The alloy frameset, which is shared across the range, has 120mm travel, using Marin’s single pivot MultiTrac suspension system and is mated to a 130mm travel RockShox Recon Silver fork.
The mid-level Hawk Hill 2, meanwhile, gets an upgrade to 12-speed Deore, while the top spec Hawk Hill 3 gets an upgrade to 2.5 inch Maxxis Assegai tyres.
All three bikes run on Marin’s own double-wall 29mm-wide alloy rims and Shimano hubs, while the Hawk Hill 2 and 3 come with 148x12 mm Boost rear hub spacing.
In place of the Hawk Hill 1’s fixed seatpost, these two bikes also get a TranzX dropper post with between 125mm and 170mm travel, depending on frame size, and internal dropper cable routing.
Marin says: “The Hawk Hill is our most playful trail bike, made for the rider that catches a bit of air off every root in the trail, is always looking for an alternate line, and ends every ride with a smile. This is an all-around bike with trail performance far outstretching the asking price".
