The Troy is Devinci’s 140mm travel all-rounder bike – a “quiver killer” in its words – that, thanks to a host of updates, should improve its on-trail capabilities.

Updates include increased tyre clearance, now up to 2.6in tyres on 29in rims, size-specific chainstay lengths, beefy pivot bearings, adjustable and updated geometry, and a 34.9mm seatpost diameter.

The new Troy’s outline has received significant updates, with a slimmed-down rear end that’s 9.5mm narrower than its predecessor, a re-designed lower shock mount and increased tyre clearance thanks to Super Boost rear axle spacing, which means the bike’s hub is 157mm wide.

The all-carbon front and rear triangles also feature a host of refinements. The underside of the down tube has an in-built rock protector, while the chainstay features its own chainslap protection and noise reduction that's made from the same polyurethane material as the down tube cover.

The lower shock mount doubles up as a cable guide and the main pivot features a small clip to keep the rear brake’s hose in place.

The Troy has a threaded bottom bracket and an ISCG mount for chain guides along with enough clearance for 28- to 36-tooth chainrings.

There’s room on the frames for a full-size 500ml water bottle, even if a shock with a piggyback is fitted.

It’s got a 34.9mm diameter seat tube, which is the largest diameter currently available, with seatpost insertion depths of up to 280mm for the extra-large bikes.

The pivots run on double row and double lip sealed bearings.

The frame is available in both carbon fibre and aluminium variants, but the two material types still share the same features and have lifetime warranties.

There is also a hybrid half carbon, half aluminium frame.

The 140mm travel rear suspension is controlled by Dave Weagle’s SplitPivot suspension system, where the rear axle is concentric to the chainstay/seatstay pivot. This system’s aim is to isolate braking, accelerating and suspension forces for better suspension action.

It’s been designed around a metric trunnion-mounted rear shock and is coil-shock compatible, hinting that the frame should have good levels of progressivity throughout its stroke and reasonable amounts of anti-squat.

Geometry wise, Devinci has made size-specific chainstay lengths to accompany changes in main frame size. The small and medium frames have 435mm chainstays, the large 440mm and the extra-large 445mm.

There’s also a geometry flip chip on the lower shock mount that can be adjusted to change between high and low positions.

The chip changes the head and seat tube angles by 0.5 degrees, the reach by 5mm and it alters the bottom bottom bracket height by 7mm.

The Troy’s available in four sizes, from small to extra-large, with reach figures starting at 440mm (low geometry setting, size small) up to 505mm (high geometry setting, size extra-large).
