PowerTap's range has been significantly bolstered with the introduction of its P1 power meter pedals, now joined by C1 power meter chainrings and an updated disc version of the five-year-old G3 hub. We caught up with technical product manager Justin Henkle at Interbike to discuss the new products.

For now, the chainrings are only compatible with 110mm BCD (bolt circle diameter) cranks. They do however represent the cheapest power meter option in most parts of the world. The refreshed disc-specific G3 hubs are lighter for greater competition-friendliness.

The devices, which communicate via both Bluetooth Smart and ANT+, will work with pretty much any modern cycling computer, or with the smartphone on your pocket.
